Description
Located in the lush surroundings of Kharela village on the Mahoba–Muskara road, Shringi Rishi Ashram is a revered spiritual site connected to the Ramayana era. Tradition holds that Sage Shringi, who performed King Dasharatha’s sacred Putreshthi Yajna leading to the birth of Lord Rama, meditated here in a natural hill cave. A lotus-filled pond at the foothills is believed to honor the memory of Sage Vibhandak, Shringi’s father. Scattered ancient idols, Shiv lingas, and inscriptions reinforce its historical significance. Even today, the ashram offers a serene atmosphere ideal for devotion, meditation, and cultural exploration.
