Description
Located about 15 km from Mahoba, Makarbai Math is a remarkable Chandela-period heritage site built entirely of solid granite. The temple stands on a raised platform and features three sanctums connected by a common mandapa, giving it a unique architectural layout. Though the idols are no longer present, the beautifully carved doorframes depict Navagraha figures, divine motifs, and Jain iconography. These artistic details suggest a strong connection to Jain Tirthankara worship. Varying interpretations by historians add scholarly interest, while the site today offers a peaceful glimpse into medieval craftsmanship and cultural harmony.
