Description
Located about one kilometer from Kabarai on the Mahoba - Hamirpur road, Brahma Tal is a significant heritage site from the Chandela era. Built in the mid-12th century by Bail Brahm, brother of ruler Madan Brahm, the lake once stood as a vast water reservoir. Its stepped stone ghats are uniquely crafted so that bathers remain unseen by one another a rare architectural feature. Though the grand Shiva–Shakti temple and central pavilion now lie in ruins, they still reflect its historical and spiritual importance. Nearby Sati markers indicate that this site may once have been a revered Shakti Peeth, symbolizing devotion and divine legacy.
